Vice President of the US: Governor Nelson Rockefeller visit to the UK and meeting with Prime Minister Harold Wilson. Talk almost entirely about the economic situation, measures the Chancellor has announced for dealing with inflation and the strong backing given by the TUC to the attack on inflation, the problem of low investment as well as talk on energy. Biography note on Rockefeller. Briefings for the talk include UK concern at protectionist tendencies in the US. The importance the UK attach to Concorde, the supply of aid funds and guns to Northern Ireland and the future of Diego Garcia. The Prime Minister may seek the Vice President's views on the Arab/Israeli situation, Portugal and the Turkish arms embargo. Included is a brief on the internal politics in the US and the British contribution to the US Bicentennial celebrations.
